PAUL McShane is in line for a Hull City recall at Cardiff this weekend – and take up the challenge of keeping star man Craig Bellamy under wraps.

The versatile defender missed City's 3-1 defeat to Doncaster 10 days ago after limping out of the League Cup defeat to Brentford days earlier with a hamstring injury.

It also ruled him out of the Republic of Ireland's win over Armenia on Friday, but McShane has declared himself fit for tonight's Euro 2012 qualifier with Andorra in Dublin.

Providing there is no recurrence of the hamstring strain, McShane looks like returning to Nigel Pearson's plans for City's trip to South Wales this weekend.

And given City's shaky performances at the back, it will provide the Tigers' boss with a timely boost.

McShane impressed at right-back in the 0-0 draw with Watford – his only full appearance this season.

And with Nolberto Solano's lack of pace an obvious concern against Bellamy, Pearson is likely to favour the Republic of Ireland man.

City are also hopeful of seeing Craig Fagan and Caleb Folan push for a recall against high-flying Cardiff.

Fagan has not played since damaging his groin during pre-season while Folan is another to have missed the opening month of the campaign with a dead leg.

Both have made progress during the international break and providing they can prove their fitness ahead of the weekend, will provide much-needed options in the Tigers attack.

Summer signing James Harper, who broke his foot in the pre-season game against North Ferriby, remains around two weeks away from a return.

A sell-out crowd is expected for the Tigers' first trip to the Cardiff City Stadium where they will go in search of their first away win in over 18 months against the high-flying Bluebirds.

“Richard says "Dont expect much at all from Bellamy on Saturday. He will either be injured or tired from Wales duty. With Chopra out already i am indeed swleeping very well now that Kamakazee wont be a hinderunce to the Tigers anymore.Lol."

Very good. But bad news is Chopra is fit for Saturday.”

“IMO Jack Russell says it all when he says - "McShane has no positional sense at all. He frequently abandons the right back position and leaves the door open- pay attention and watch him closely and you will see what a liability he is.! This ginger-headed prune was wandering about the left wing last season letting the opposition score with the gaps he left.- thats how bad he is!" How true.

All the Watford attacks came through him and he allowed a stream of crosses in past him. He is "Do or die." Bellend Bellamy has lotsa clubs because he is a pain - McShane has lots for such a young lad because he is crap. Therein lies the difference.

He is not good enough. But to hear some fans, he was Man o' Match. Before this season started, how often did we hear, "The Chump is crap. We will stroll it." or " X and Y were not good in the PL but will be fantabulousa in the Chump." ?

All I want are some better signs that things will get better so we can survive this season comfortably with prospects for the future. I cannot feel confident given our appalling record for the last 2 seasons, or when peeps say, "but Ash, McShame, Foolan, Fagend, etc will be back soon and rescue us."

I am so pleased that Nige got rid of the likes of Zay, but we need decent replacements. So I have to trust him to sort it. But the likes of his OJ, Bostick, Koren etc all look good on paper but are hardly starting to do their jobs. How long do I have to wait ? It will be a long wait unless something happens soon.

What odds McShame will escape a yellow tomorrow. ?”
