HULL CITY: Pearson seeks talks over extending Rowan Vine's stay
NIGEL Pearson will enter talks with QPR next week in a bid to extend Rowan Vine's loan spell with Hull City.
As it stands, the 28-year-old striker will see his current one-month deal expire after today's trip to Barnsley.

But with City and QPR keen to see Vine's stay stretched to at least another month, it is hoped talks will see the forward remain at the KC.
QPR boss Neil Warnock has made it clear that Vine has no future with his table-topping side and Pearson would be only too happy to profit.
All that remains to be sorted are the financial terms of an extended deal and the City boss hopes there will be no hitches.
"I had a chat with the player on Thursday and like any situation with loan players, we'll explore the possibilities open to us," said Pearson.
"I'd like to keep him but it will depend on a few things.
"I think he's enjoyed himself and he's fitted in so hopefully we can make something happen."
Vine is yet to find the net in his four appearances after a debut in the 0-0 draw with Coventry but has shown signs of progress.
A partnership with Nick Barmby, first tried in defeat to Portsmouth last weekend, could be given another chance to shine at Barnsley.
Pearson added: "He will be the first to admit his disappointment that he's not scored so far but I've seen a gradual improvement, certainly in his fitness levels, since he's been here.
"We need as many players as possible available at the moment and we still need to find the answers in terms of scoring goals."

“No matter who plays up front......this also applies to last season....they must get some decent service. Long hopeful balls into the box do not result in regular sucess. We need two wide players who can get to the by-line and look for players in the box. We need mid field players who can penetrate defences not just go sideways/backwards. We do not have the players to provide this service......regardless who is up front.”

“I commend all the true supporters of my hometown football team for the patience and loyalty they have shown the club this season.
How I feel for each and every one of you, because what I saw against Barnsley was nothing more than a team (with only 1 or 2 exceptions) who I honestly believe would struggle in the lower leagues.
The players City have I am sure try their hardest week in week out, but the truth is, they are simply not good enough especially in the mid-field and out wide. City's attack is absolutely woeful, there is no cutting edge to it at all and there is no doubt City need to be looking for strikers and pace because what they have at the moment whilst I would say they were mediocre, I feel that is insulting mediocre players.
I fear nothing is going to change for City unless Nigel Pearson is properly supported by his Chairman and the board, and is given the funds to buy new players and offload a fair few of the team he has now. (that's if any other team would want them)
Nigel Pearson needs this support, then all you loyal supporters can comment and judge him on his performance as the Coach, but as he has not really been given the full financial support he needs, then he has not been given a fair crack of the whip it's as simple as that.
If things stay as they are, I fear City's only way will be down.”

“Send Vine back! He has done naff all and is to chubby! In my opinion he has contributed nothing to the team and I would rather play Garcia up front than him.
Can some body tell me why Andy Dawson cannot play a first time ball? I don't know what has happened to Daws recentley but he is looking out of his depth in this league. I don't understand why he is going backwards most of the time when he has got the ball? And he has recentley been taking 3 and 4 touches before playing the ball ! WHY so many touches? Come on Daws! Get it sorted.
Also has nobody explained the offside rule to young Cullen? how many times could he looked across the line and found himself in an offside position? Someone down at the club needs to tell him to take a step back and realise the position he is in before making his move.
I would not be suprised to see Sir Adam grind the axe down on NP if we lose the next game. I don't think Sir Adam won't pull any punches just ask Jan Molby, I was even suprised he lasted until the end of Oct.
Me thinks there has to be a massive change in the style off football and we have to start taking a few gambles. Starting with NP instructing his troops to ATTACK , ATTACK against the Iron on Saturday.”

“I see rumours are rife about Big Nigel being shown the door already. Surely even 'Lord' Pearson would not stoop so low as to sack a manager after just what..14 games ?
No wonder we are skint !
