RICHARD Agar has praised the effort and commitment of Sean Long after seeing his captain make an impressive return to training.

The Hull FC scrum-half has completed his first week of full training after returning from a two-month absence due to a dislocated elbow.

Despite missing the last eight weeks with a painful injury, Long was among the pacesetters in last week's fitness drills during training.

And with the 33-year-old having no complaints regarding his elbow and looking in peak physical condition, Agar has praised the work-rate of the Black and Whites' star man.

"Longy has been absolutely brilliant and it is great to have him back out with the boys again," Agar told the Mail.

"We did some fitness work last week and he was right at the front of everything we did.

"That is a credit to the way he has looked after himself during his injury. It can be difficult when you are out with an injury like he had, but he's worked so hard with our conditioners, who also deserve credit.

"He's lost a little bit of weight, but apart from that he looks in great shape and the elbow is fine."

Long was today joined on the training field by half-back partner Richard Horne for the first time in five months.

Horne has finally been given the all-clear to rejoin the first team after completing his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

The two halves now look set to play alongside each other in Hull's all-important clash with Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, a game which will dictate which of the two teams finishes fourth in the table.

The duo have not played in the same side since the Good Friday win against Hull KR on April 2 after a season which has seen both hampered by injury.

"Rich is back in full training from today and that's great news. With the exception of Mark Calderwood and Richard Whiting, we now have all the boys training," added Agar.

"We had a decent week last week, we've had a few days off and we are really looking forward to facing Leeds now on Saturday."

“the real truth, what makes you think i sign giros? typical of someone like you isnt it. end of the day the ground shouldnt need improvements been only 2 decades old. yet its on a par with the likes of saints, castlefords and wakeys all grounds that are 100 years old. so really you have a cheek asking for council help again.”

“I've got the real, the ground is in good nick, like I said the East and West stands are great, the South was built the way it was to accomadate the dogs and speedway and a North stand wasn't thought to be needed at the time. This is the only reason it needs new building, so I'm afraid the only thing you have in your pocket is your Giro waiting to be cashed. Chas, the only reason FC used the players as assets is because they don't have anything else. FC are the only club to do so, even after the accountants told your CEO it wasn't a good idea, he thought he may have to so the club didn't look like it was running in the red, even so it was Crocker that saved you by not coming. If he had come the 100,000 he was on a yuear would have made your yearly profit a 63,000 loss, now your up to cap for next season your loss will show, no matter how much figure crunching goes on.”

“Real truth,Players are included in the assets i.e. the value of the club and NOT the profits.
I appreciate that you are of low intelligence and will find this difficult to understand.”

“the real truth the ground should be in good nick shouldnt it? it was only built 21 years ago f.f.s. and you have the bare faced cheek to ask for handouts for it when its through neglect its gone down the pan. really it should have a least b criteria. grounds that are 100yrs plus seem to be on a par with new craven park which is totally unacceptable for a relatively new stadium yes or no? and tell me this when was the last time kr got a double figure gate at craven park not including the hull derbys?”

“Yes FC did make a profit last year but ONLY when they used the players (the only club ever to do this) as assetts and with Crocker not coming, that saved you £100,000 for that year, wait till next year now you fully up to your salery cap and your not allowed to use your players as assetts. The only people who think the ground is a dump are simple minded FC fans. The East and West stands are great, the North stand has a great view, the only stand not worth much is the South stand and it's only the FC animals who use it. To the incomprehensible poster, you and the other 10,000 FC fans that have turned up since you moved to the KC wouldn't know the truth if it hit you in the face and thats the real truth.”
