HULL FC: Radford banned for do-or-die derby, but appeal is planned
LEE Radford will miss the 'do-or-die derby' clash with Hull KR after tonight being handed a one-game ban by the RFL.
-

Lee Radford
Radford was sent off for the first time in his career after punching Ryan Bailey in the 10th minute of Saturday’s Super League defeat to Leeds Rhinos at the KC Stadium.
He has been suspended for one-match and fined £300 by the RFL Disciplinary Committee after being found guilty of a Grade A offence.
Radford received a red card from referee Ian Smith following the incident and missed 70 minutes, effectively meaning he has served a two-game ban.
Radford is attending the club's official awards dinner tonight and the Mail understands he could launch an appeal against the verdict tomorrow.

“radders should not have walked on red only yellow and only to the sin bin for ten both of them, bailey is known for foul play and this time got away with it.he was inciting by pointing and threatning but this is where the game is spoilt by the inept reffing decisions it's ruining a great game.good luck in your appeal lee.
anyway on a lighter note, just to make w.mason feel at home the dobbins new anthem, meastro if you please,
waltzing ma rovers,

“ben cockayne got a 2 match ban in the last derby, for handbags with calderwood.in comparison this was GBH,not saying bailey didn't deserve it,its a pleasure to see him get a good thumping, but how can radford plead not guilty to punching.??”

“As much as it was out of character for Radders to retaliate the punishment does fit the offence irrespective of his past clean record. It may seem harsh but that is the consequence of him seeing red.”

“So it¿s a ban for Radford and not even a slap on the wrist for Bailey, a player who would be more at home in an episode of The Sopranos than on a rugby league pitch.
Boxing is the only sport in which punching is a legitimate part of the action. Rugby league is the only sport in which elbowing an opponent in the head is deemed part and parcel of the game.
Bailey should also have been dismissed, but by allowing him to play on the ref delivered the result the RFL wanted, the Super League top four the RFL wanted and the first-round tie the RFL wanted to help breathe a bit of life into their bloated play-off format. By definition, the fact that eight teams qualify and only six miss out means it¿s actually harder to avoid the play-offs than to qualify. Ludicrous.
Maybe the RFL will get their full house at the KC on Saturday. The game should certainly pull in more than the 16,000-odd that Sky Sports News described as ¿capacity¿ in their typically hyped-up news reports of last weekend¿s match.
I¿ll stay at home and see if I can find a TV documentary showing Pakistan¿s cricketers practising their no-balls. It¿s easier to stomach than yet more shambolics from the RFL.”
