KIRK Yeaman believes he has every chance of regaining his international place if he lifts his game for Hull FC in the decisive weeks of the season.

Yeaman enjoyed a call-up to Steve McNamara's 37-man training party for a squad building exercise in Liverpool last week.

It was the first time since the 2007 Tri-Nations the Hull-born star has been involved in any kind of England get-together.

And buoyed at being in the thoughts of the new England coach Steve McNamara, he has set his sights on giving him plenty of food for thought in the coming weeks.

"It is nice to feel you are at least in Steve's thoughts for the end of the year because it is what I really want, to be involved in the Four Nations squad," Yeaman said.

"Hopefully I can keep up my form and improve even more so I can be in contention come the end of the year.

"I've missed out on the past two seasons for whatever reason, but that has gone now and I am looking forward to the future.

"I love playing international rugby, it is where you want to be as a player."

Yeaman has three England caps and two Great Britain appearances to his name.

Hull's top try scorer in the Super League era, the 26-year-old centre started the season in impressive try scoring fashion.

A try in four of Hull's opening five games has since given way to just four more all season.

But while tries have not been as easy to come by, Yeaman's overall performances have remained consistent.

"I feel my form has been good, but there is always room to improve.

"As a player you want to improve and if I can do that a little bit more I'll give myself a chance of being picked for England," added Yeaman.

“One of the most over rated players in SL. Goes missing most games and only turns up when a cheap shot is needed.
Looking at the way McBanana ran The Bulls into the ground he's got every chance of a starting spot.”

“It's difficult for outside backs to shine in a team so bereft of attacking options as Hull have been in the last 3 years. He's shown what he can do when Cooke used to feed him down the left channel. However Kirk's defensive displays are deserving of international recognition, but I suspect he'll be left out of the 4 nations based on a modest try count this season.”

“weak in defence? other than getting carried away and charging out of the line every now and then he is best defensive centre england have. unlike welham the fly swatter.”
