HULL KR Luen to drive KR to the top (video)
EIGHT years ago, Paul Luen was stood in a sparsely populated east stand hoping Hull KR would one day return to the top of rugby league.
Now, he's been appointed onto the Rovers board to help deliver that dream to supporters just like him.

Hull KR's new associate director Paul Luen
Luen, a local entrepreneur, has been amazed by how far the club has come in such a short space of time.
Having built up his own company – Martek Marine from a £6,000 start-up company into a £7m market leading global business, Luen is hoping he can achieve similar results with Rovers and their determined board.
"The great thing about this club is that there is passion amongst the management team and that continues to burn," Luen told the Mail.
"I look back to eight years ago, when I was one of the 800 or so in the east stand.
"Things weren't quite as they are at the moment and to look at the progression we have made since then on the field is phenomenal.
"Now we need to replicate that progression off the field too with the commercial activities.
"That's why I'm really excited to be joining such a forward-thinking, passionate and progressing board."
See today's Mail for more from Paul Luen.

“I heard that he had to make a significant investment in the once famous wovers before being allowed to join the board. 50p, a stick of bubble gum, and a balloon.
All rise for the MIGHTY HULL FC”

“morequestions.my post makes perfectly good sense,of course they want to make a profit the trouble is the profit goes to the owners not the club.if you recall halfway towards the end of the season fans were on about boycotting games, marching to the kc in protest about the board, remember or maybe you were in your own little cocoon blissfully unaware of what was going on.your support deserves better but fortunatetly for the board the supporters keep stumping up the money, but it won't last forever, thats what happened in 1999 supporters finally got sick of the board and we know the rest don't we.”

“darren - you are confusing the article just like I said fans will. There is no mention of Luen investing anything other than time. Its propaganda to appease worries the fans have.
This guy has been driving a ferrari since you were in NL1. If that isn't a statement of wealth what is? His money is probably tied up in his successful business. There isn't even a suggestion of sponsorship.
As for Hull - Your statements make no sense. If you invest in a business you want it to do well. These people can now do 1 of 3 things.
Let Hull go to the wall and lose their money,
Find a buyer who will pay them off and walk away.
Or work hard to make the club a success to make a gain on their investment.
What you are suggesting is a 4th option. Keep the club in status quo and do nothing.
All the evidence at Hull is that people are working hard off the field to make it work hence the A license from the RFL. Hull FC as a business is way ahead of most SL clubs even if the team are something of shambles at present.
If Hull need a buyer I don't know if someone will come in or not but it is highly unlikely the current management set up would walk away potless.”
