KRIS Welham has "worked his backside off" to be fit for Hull KR's play-off campaign, according to coach Justin Morgan.

Fit-again Welham is one of three players who have handed Morgan a triple boost ahead of Saturday's trip to Crusaders.

Welham, Michael Ratu and Ben Galea will all be available for the Robins' final regular season game.

Centre Welham needed an operation on a shoulder injury picked up in the 46-14 win at Wakefield at the start of July, but is now back in contention to defy fears he'd be out for the season.

Morgan is delighted to have all three available, but he reserved praise for Welham's rapid recovery efforts.

"Kris should be back after having his first contact session earlier this week," he told the Mail.

"He came through that okay and he has worked his backside off to get back fit.

"Centre is a difficult position to defend and like the front row you need time to adjust.

"Kris has done that and shown great maturity ever since coming into the team a couple of years ago.

"He is still learning the game and if they come through the rest of the week they will be in contention for the Crusaders game."

Having seen Galea recover from his scratched eye, Morgan could hand both starts in Wales at the weekend.

"Ben didn't require an operation and he should be okay for the weekend," Morgan told the Mail.

"He is a huge player for us and I'm very pleased he is available for selection.

Ratu has only featured five times for Rovers since joining from Leeds, but he will swell the ranks with Jake Webster and Chev Walker still absent.

Walker played his first game in 11 months for the reserves 12 days ago after recovering from a broken leg, but this Saturday's game looks to have come too soon for the former Great Britain star, who will play for Bradford Bulls next season.

* ROVERS are still waiting for the paperwork and visa to be completed before they can announce the transfer of Aussie half-back Blake Green.
