Thank you for supporting the rescuers
By the chairman of Hornsea Inshore Rescue, Sue Hickson-Marsay
All the members of Hornsea Inshore Rescue – crew, fund-raisers and trustees – would like to wish everyone in the Hornsea area a very happy Christmas and New Year and to thank them for continuing their fantastic support for Hornsea Rescue.

We have always received a very high level of support, not just financially, although we always welcome funds, but in every way.
This year the support from the community has been really overwhelming.
Hornsea Inshore Rescue is progressing grants for the second phase of the boathouse and has recently requested letters of support, which most large grant applications need, from all sectors of the community.
We have received some absolutely wonderful letters and just can't thank people enough.
The grant applications are going well although we do have an immediate funding shortfall at present of £40,000 as we have had problems getting a bank loan.
We are still hoping to complete the boathouse this summer. It will be a multi-purpose building complete with sea-safe education classrooms which groups can use, and a visitor centre open to everyone.
We are using recycled water for the toilets and for washing down the boat, and are looking into having a wind turbine to generate electricity.
Thank you everyone, have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing you when the new boathouse is open later this year.
