Marist regained the lead with another forward try with Hornsea's mistakes costing them.

The Hollismen took the lead before half-time interval with a well worked backs try with Nick Hardgrave touching down in the corner.

The second half saw Marist up their game and they regained the lead with their third try which was then added to with a penalty goal.

Hornsea never really seemed to click into gear and could only muster three more points through the boot of Naylor.

Hornsea player-coach Steve Crook said: "This was a typical derby and our errors cost us the points.

"We never really seemed to click, with Marist deserving to win the game.

"Defeat sees us back in the relegation zone, so we must, and will, pick ourselves up in the week in readiness for our final game of 2012 at home against Ossett, which will be a crucial one."
