“Laughably illiterate post. No wonder the management don't take you seriously.

Mind, this is nothing compared to some of the job applications I used to receive.

    Good luck anyway.”

    “amyb1993

i totally agree with you, the family sessions are there for the reason of skating with small children, disco should be for fast skating and showing off skills and public sessions should be for just skating at what ever speed you like, i was banned on a disco session for 'freestyling' its not putting anyone in danger, im simply in the middle of the rink, doing footwork, hardly taking my feet off the ice. figure skaters are allowed to put their legs fully up in the air and speed a high speeds, without getting banned, thats simply the point i put to the mangment their, and they just said, well we are not going to listen to you, we are going to listen to the ice steward that was on duty.”

“the thing is with the council, they seem to tie every young person with the same brush, we were all young at one point, and we all know how it feels to be blamed for the mistakes of other young people. Everybody knows that ice skating can be dangerous, my cousin broke her arm skating, if you dont like skating, or you dont like the people who go at the time you go, either DONT go or choose a different time. There are family sessions where younger children can go without being in danger.

    Rant over!”

“By the way... I'll do everything I can to stop the Arena closing down. Even if it means buying the place and flushing out the garb.”

“By the way, you've heard of sexism, ageism, racism and the like.... what about the new cancers on here like grammarism, pronunciationism and spellingism? Okay so we're all culprits (I once retorted with a similar 'ism' to someone who had dissed one of my comments) but a person should be able to try to get a point accross on here shouldn't they? Regardless of how they spell?”

“I think most people know my views on this. Why you were told to get your skates off beggars belief. I was told to announce that all skaters to come out of the circle unless Freestyler is on. The next thing I know is you got banned for a week.”

“The problem is when a facility is run by an council your are going to have rules which are there purley to avoid litigation, maybe if people want to skate fast on ice they should take up Ice Hockey or competitive figure skating instead of the chav pursuit of freestyling.”

“Don't they have graded sessions at ice skating arenas like they sometimes do at swimming baths? Public liability and the fear of litigation probably causes the over-jealous Arena attendants to be a little keen to stop you if they consider you a danger to others. If you get a bit lippy with them, they'll probably take the easy option and ban you.

Now I'm not suggesting that your skating is dangerous, you're probably very good, but the thing is this. You might not be able to stop in time before wiping out and injuring some small kid who happens to be a much less competent skater. Next morning the kid's mother is on the blower to Neil Hudgell raising a compo claim against the council to fund a family trip to Disney Florida.

It's a good discussion point you've raised sassehull, but trying to decipher it was like wading through treacle. Here's a suggestion: for every hour spent skating try and resolve to spend one hour reading and writing, or even just half an hour.”
