HULL City and former manager Nick Barmby have today released a joint statement saying 'all issues' have now been resolved between the two parties following his sudden sacking in May.

Barmby was suspended and then sacked by owners Assem and Ehab Allam after a series of media interviews in which he spoke about transfer budgets.

It saw the former Tigers player launch legal action over his dismissal, an issue brought to a close following today's joint statement.

Neither Barmby nor the Allams were willing to make any comment after the statement was released, with no reference made to whether Barmby has received any financial compensation.

At the time, the Allams said the comments were 'wholly misleading'  and implied that funds had not been made available to strengthen the first team.

They said his comments had 'unjustifiably cast public doubt on the honesty and integrity of the Board and its members.'

However, a statement released this afternoon said: "The Club now accepts that Nick Barmby did not in any of his interviews with the media have any intention of disparaging the Club or its owners."

It added that Barmby had also accepted his comments: "could have been misconstrued."

“The millionaire Nick Barmby was over promoted after Hull City was left in the mire by that cruel mistress,Leicester City, stealing away our loved ones.Yes,even people called Nigel are worthy of love, but Hull City and Nigel was an unsatisfactory marriage,so it seems, even if divorce threatens Nigel's exciting new Love Adventure......
I'm glad things have been settled out of court.Anything else would have been unnecessarily ugly.
I feel the Allams had Saint Nick foisted on them by Adam Pearson.Great PR for the Allams for about 3 weeks or whatever it was,but I sense they took on Nick with a heavy heart knowing THEY'D take the blame if in future they had to sack him. From the Allam's point of view,he wasn't the man to deliver Premier League football, and they were right, even if Nick did help to deliver some of the most fluent football many of us have ever seen from Hull City.
I think Nick should have been compensated for the early curtailment of his career,as I suspect he has been, and for the premature ending of his managerial contract, but otherwise,in all fairness,it's not as though Nick Barmby is urgently seeking another position.Hull City was his only project. The only thing he will have required is today's statement, making it apparent to Jo Public at Large that he is an honourable man who had no intention of disrespecting his employers, which most of us think he didn't do anyway. The Allams just knew he wasn't the right man for the job of delivering Premier League football.”

“The Allams crave success for Hull City.

we had a fab chance of a play off place and NB Blew it with his 1 win in 11 games.

we now have a better manager and a better squad.

    nothing else matters....”

“A sensible compromise by both parties. It is now time to move on and good luck to Nick Barmby in whatever he does in the future. He has contributed a lot to Hull City in his time here an we should value his contribution.”

“Fair result. Both parties seem to have come out OK. Hopefully Nick will be able to get his career back on track. Sadly the opportunity to manage a big club came too soon. Still, the club seems to be back on track, and hopefully so will Nick. Let's remember the good times. Wembley was good eh? Good luck Nick.”
