Injury blow: Sone Aluko
Aluko has been a key player since his move from Rangers in the summer and his injury is a blow to the Tigers' promotion hopes.
Speaking after the win over Leyton Orient tonight, Bruce also confirmed he is in contact with Fulham over a possible move to bring goalkeeper David Stockdale to the KC Stadium on loan until the end of the season.

“Bad news, but hopefully the German is coming good just at the right time. Let's see what he can do spearheading the attack with Koren playing off him for a couple of games. I expect we'll definitely be trying to bring someone in now, since we let McLean go out and Simpson seems to have lost his shooting boots again.”

"@Millvi - we are away on Saturday at Peterborough."
Doh! We are....just checked my diary. They've had some good results recently but I hope we can steamroller them.”

“This situation and the goalkeeping crisis will be a real teat for Steve Bruce now. Thankfully we have a home game this Saturday against a beatable side (hopefully). Stockdale and Campbell?”

“Time to give Nick a 6 week run out. Sounds like he scored a cracker last night!”

“A big loss but it's perhaps fortunate that its happened during the transfer window, hopefully this the point that Nick Proschwitz emerges from the shadows after scoring two in the last two, and the last one was a worldy!”

“I'm just thinking how ironic this prediction is that Sone will be out 6 weeks. I've done a lot of long distance running over the years and those darn achilles injuries were always the worst ones to recover from. Funny thing is, I learned that it takes a minimum of 6 weeks to heal. So, I'm going to say that 6 weeks is about spot on. Shame as it casts a bit of a downer after the Cup win today. As previous posters stated, we've won without him and it may help in that he'll be fresh for the run in to May.”

“All too predictable, alas, but we've eked out results without him.It must surely be Steve Bruce's hunch that this injury could get worse,so another foray into the loan or transfer markets may be needed. At least his absence doesn't seem the blow it would have done two months ago.Good luck to the player, strange how the medical staff send out optimistic messages but the rest of us fret about this kind of injury.Keep going City, proud of how we have played this season,if you do make it Automatic it would be a massive achievement and a statement of your quality and character.”

“sad news for sone, but so far whenever a player was injured, or suspended, or fatigued a player has stepped in and took the reigns. this battle for a place regime we have has been a breath of fresh air and the defense have really shone from it, changing faye, mcshane and bruce with ease. And lets not forget we won every game without sone last time he was out. a hefty loss but we'll soon move on.
utt!”
