Hull City fans surprised by Brown exit
Loyal fan Trevor Pearce, 42, who hasn't missed a game since 1985, said: "I'm surprised by the timing of it. I thought it would have either happened before now or at the end of the season.
"It's hard to tell if he is the best manager we've had, but he has achieved something that no other manager in our history has – and that's getting us into the top flight of English football."
Maria Bromby, 65, from Tickton, near Beverley, said: "I was amazed with the timing – with only nine games left. It does seem such a strange time, though I'm sure Adam Pearson will have the right motives.
"On Saturday, against Arsenal, the players seemed behind Brown and couldn't have played any better. I'm sure they will be shocked."

“I've advocated this for a long time,BUT the timing appears to be wrong @ this time. Let's keep our fingers crossed for next season.”

“absouloutley appauled by the decision of the board, complete disgrace to disrupt the club at such a crucial time, what they need most is stabalisation and getting rid of our most succesful manager thats kept us in the premier league the last 2 seasons is not the way to do it”

“The only surprise for me is that it has taken so long. I think that we only had 7 wins from 45 games. Any other club would have sacked the manager long ago. I'm glad Brown has gone: He had taken the club as far as he could. A good manager at Championship level but no idea in the Premiership. Good luck to him, but I wish he had gone sooner. We only have 9 games left and that is a tough prospect. Hope the lads keep it together and bounce back with renewed vigour. I've already got my season ticket and Prem or Championship I will be there. Hope it's the Premiership though. Come on you Hull!!”

“the suprising thing for me was browny wasnt sacked before the season started....never liked him for some reason, maybe because i allways rated peter taylor and never wanted him to leave..still the timing is strange but i think horton has more chance of saving city then browny had”

“It is better late than too late. We have some easier games on the horizon and there is still time to grab some points and hopefully stay in the premiership. Late but not too late.”

“Decision - Obvious
Timing - Abismal
This should have been done at the end of last season - leaving just 9 games to get out of trouble is going to be very difficult indeed. I feel we would need 12 points from 27 and i really cant see it happening.
Phil Brown served his purpose acheiving Premiership football for the Tigers but lets be realistic - he is a Championship manager at best. I arent knocking him for his acheivment but the terrible run of form after the now infamous boxing day public finger wagging at Man City should have been clear to a blind man that it was time for him to go.
However sacking him now with such little time left does seem bizzare to say the least. Will be interesting to see what Adam Pearson has to say of this - if he says anything at all the the media or public.”

“There once was a manager called Brown, who left Hull today bearing a frown, he once was the saviour, but sacked for his mis-behaviour and now has a job in Tanfastic in town !!!!”

“I'm not a great lover of Brown and I might be one of the few out on a limb here, but I think it's a mistake. We've got the best run in of all around us and now should be the time to start taking points. I hope Adam knows what he's doing. It won't be the first mistake he's made with Managers. More than anything, I don't understand the timing.”

“I am reliably informed that this is 99.9% a rumour... Peter Reid for the Managers role... and 47.23% of all percentages are made up...”
