Hull City fear missing out on Fraizer Campbell as Cardiff City pounce
HULL City look set to miss out on signing Fraizer Campbell for a third time, with the Sunderland striker seemingly set for a move to Cardiff City.
The striker is believed to have held talks with the Bluebirds' manager Malky Mackay last night, and his Black Cats team-mate Matt Kilgallon today tweeted him suggesting a deal was done.

City twice missed out on signing Campbell in their Premier League days, firstly when he was loaned to Tottenham from Manchester United, and then when Steve Bruce took him to the Stadium of Light.
Bruce has openly admitted his interest in bringing Campbell to the KC, and despite the players' father Keith, who also acts as his agent, saying a return to Hull would be of interest, he now looks set to join the Championship leaders..

Sunderland defender Kilgallon posted a good luck message on his Instagram account, today, after Campbell had apparently left a picture of himself on Kilgallon's kit.
The message read: "Cheers for the present Fraz left on my kit...Good luck at Cardiff pal."
City are one of a scrum of Championship clubs being linked with QPR striker DJ Campbell tonight.
Bruce signed Campbell while manager of Birmingham in 2006.
Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, where he scored 10 goals on loan earlier this season, are among the favourites to sign the former Blackpool man.

“And Mcgoldrick from Coventry currently top scorer in league 1 but he would be too exspensive.
Bring back Ben Burgess and Danny Allsopp.”

“FC isnt all that look at the list of strikers I have accumulated below which are all realistic.
"Just a few Strikers available... Macheda, Leroy lita, Luis Saha, Sammy Ameobi, Luke Moore, Simeon Jackson, Darren Bent, Tadanari Lee and Noel Hunt... (Currently in the Prem, all loan deals though) Darius Henderson seems to pop up in the right place a lot (could be an option) with Leicester spendig money Nugent could be available, If we want to spend money Charlie Austins talents go without saying.... Even Clayton Donaldson is scoring for fun with Crewe for anyone who does remember him, not premiership quality like lol. We cant deny Marlon Kings Talents...id personally take him back in a heart beat. Ross McCormack is looking for a way out at leeds (2nd or 3rd top goal scorer last season)
Carlton Cole or Vaz Te too? We'd need to buy these as they wouldnt b available for loan...”

“Wow. Does that man Campbell get under our skin like an old flame we just can not get over. Seems now for once we are all singing from the same hymn sheet. I don't know why it took so long to get the message - he was never interested after the first time. WE liked him more than he liked us. Great go to Cardiff ruin them, the real team to watch is Leicester.
I think Nigel Pearson is going to have the last laugh unfortunately. His heart was never in it here and that was the problem, he loved his Leicester.
DJ Campbell is a much better signing but what ever happens I think we will be better next year. SB has done a better job than I thought but may need another year. Not sure I could go through another Wembley playoff final again. UTT”

“When you think of Steve Bruce think of the Bhutanese Proverb...."The arrow of the accomplished master will not be seen when it is released;only when it hits the target"....

“lets face it folks do we need a player like F Campbell bad knees big wages ? did we even talk to Sunderland about him ? something tells me that if SB wanted him we would have got him as for DJ Campbell i would take him he has bagged 10 goals for Ipswich in a loan spell this season if he can score goals for a average Ipswich team how many will he get in this city team ?”

“Buying Frazier Campbell might be a bit risky as he had a cruciate ligament injury soon after joining Sunderland and then did the same ligament again later on. That's a bad medical history for a 25 year old. According to one website he may only cost £500,000 as his contract runs out at the end of this season which isn't much for a Premier League striker. Even when Sunderland played a weakened side for their recent cup match against Bolton he was only in as a substitute.Martin O'Neill is a pretty good judge of players so obviously doesn't want to renew his contract.
Just because he played so well when he was a youngster with us doesn't mean we should bust a gut to get him now.
D J Campbell would be an interesting possibility - always liked him when he played for Blackpool but he is getting on a bit. Just noticed that Saha is on a free from Sunderland. Looks like O'Neill is doing a car boot sale!”

“I don't think City were interested in Frazier Campbell at all. It was a media led transfer which contained very, very little actual fact and no link at all that put Campbell and City in the same room in possible transfer talks.
So we have not missed out.
Another very negative Hull City story.”
