Hull City lose David Stockdale as Fulham recall goalkeeper from loan spell
HULL City’s loan goalkeeper David Stockdale has been recalled back to Fulham, the club have confirmed this afternoon.
The move comes as a blow to the Tigers given Stockdale’s impressive form since joining last month.

David Stockdale, right, with Ben Amos
City lost only one of five games with him in goal, his debut at home to Burnley.
The Tigers have since won three out of four games, with the former Ipswich man keeping two clean sheets in the process against Crystal Palace and Huddersfield.

Stockdale had won praise from manager Steve Bruce for the manner in which he commanded his area, and his distribution. Bruce had already said he would be keen to sign the 27-year-old on a full-time deal if possible.
Bruce will now face a choice between either Eldin Jakupovic or Ben Amos to face Derby on Friday night.
Amos started the season as first choice, but Jakupovic has been preferred on the bench since Stockdale’s arrival.

“It is disappointing to lose a keeper of Stockdales ability and particularly with three key games coming up. We won plenty of games earlier in the season with Amoss in goal and there is no reason why we shouldn´t again. Too many people remember his mistakes particularly the HDM reporter, it was significant to me that he made a comment about one goal that Amoss was not to blame why mention that, who else was not to blame? Amoss would not have a contract to stay at OT if they did not think he is a good keeper and we should get behind him. The form of young players does go up and down and now he has had a rest he should be ready to return and show us why he has played for England Under 21´s and Man U first team. I keep reading that we should have signed Mannone we don´t know that he was ever available if we every asked then we did not get the green light and he has not signed for anybody else. Clubs want at three keepers available and if Arsenal don´t they are not going to let him go. We do need a permanant keeper and Stockdale needs to play regularly so if Fulham sign the Charlton keeper they are after we may have a chance with Stockdale but we may have to wait for that to happen.”

“Pompey Pete, well said mate. The way I see it any player who wears the City shirt gets my support, admittedly sometimes through gritted teeth, but always left verbal ****ging players off to our boo boys who it seems need fresh meat every season, just ask Paul McShane.”

“The goalkeeping problem should have been sorted before the season started, like others I hoped that Bruce would make an offer for Mannone and I was amazed when he paid a quarter of a million pounds to take a rookie on loan. Let's hope we can maintain the present momentum without too many blunders from Amos or Jacupovic, decent keeper urgently needed on a permanent basis, preferably in January!”

“I said we would rue the day we didnt sign Vito Mannone
whilst like others think Steve Bruce has done a great job here the goalkeeping situation leaves a lot to be desired.
He said he would be talking to Wenger but nothing happened and we ended up with Jakupovic who hasnt had a sniff even when Amos was leaking goals, so his future here doesnt look good.
Mannone is out of the Arsenal 1st team now get on the phone ASAP.The seasons at a crucial point now so we dont want to be carrying a goal keeper, we want the keeper to be controlling the defense as as well as a goal stopper.”

“Great keeper done really well for us, Hopefully get him back in the Jan transfer window either perm or another loan, the fact Amos didn't make the bench on sat lunchtime says he is out of favour, so that means putting an unknown in goal in Javopic, what a **** time to recall such an important stage of the season, Xmas is going to make or break us, If all goes well could see us topping the table by new year.”

“The goalkeeper is one of the most important members of any side and his ability in saving shots, knowing when to come for crosses and above all vocal command of his area, all transpire in building a solid defence and the last thing any serious promotion hunting side needs is uncertainty between the sticks. The position must be sorted out soon as possible and as far as i know,Mannone is still out of favour at Arsenal.Along with David Meylers possible departure, this is the last thing we needed before a run of crucial fixtures which puts us in the difficult position of having to "trial" two keepers in the hope that one will do the business!!”

“Im afraid thats the loan system for you. Come what may, I reckon Amos will regain his place and its now down to City fans to support him to the hilt by building up his confidence again.”

“Shame , decent goalie. Just because of an injury to their back-up goalie. Oh well, he'll now sit their bench freezing is Kn ackers off, when he could be with us doing what he should be doing.
Big miss this will be. Still our own fault for not buying a decne tgoalie in the summer.
Foo king Fulham.”
