New Hull City boss Iain Dowie will take charge of his first training session today.

After being unveiled by Tigers chairman Adam Pearson yesterday, Dowie will immediately turn his attention to the crucial bottom of the Premier League battle with Portsmouth this weekend.

He was this morning putting the players through their paces at the Cottingham training ground.

He told the Mail: "I always feel my strengths are on the training ground and it's great to be involved again."
