The Irish winger has struggled to break into the Tigers' first-team squad. A loan spell at Rotherham earlier in the season was cut short by injury.
Meanwhile, striker Aaron Mclean has left the Tigers for Ipswich Town and Mark Cullen is being tipped to join Stevenage.

“Devitt seems physically weak and small; he should get come muscle on that frame to stop him from being pushed off the ball. He may be a good player at that point for City.
Is Oxley any good? He never seems to play. He appears permanently injured (back trouble). Let's see what he can do as he was touted as a real prospect when Rotheram sold him. If he continues to be injured it's time to let go. We know all too well that sick notes are no use: Gardener and Bullard come to recent memory.”

“Agree with Macc_george on most, barring Stewart, Cairney and Cooper. Cairney has a wonderful amount of potential, as do the others really... Stewart reminds me so much of Theo Walcott. He has the pace, the trickery and he can finish, he just can't cross for toffee. In our current formation, the only place he'd fit would be up top alongside the striker. Unless we go wingers again, he won't be playing any time soon. Cooper is probably learning so much off of probably 4 of the best central defenders in the league - Hobbs, Faye, Chester and Bruce. Give him another few years and see how he gets on under the influence of those 4 big guns. Can always let him go at the end of his contract.”

“Sadly the likes of Devitt, Cullen, Stewart, Mclean, Oxley, Cairney, Cooper etc. are not good enough for a team that has ambitions of getting into the Premier League.
The sooner we get them all off the wage bill the better as this will free up places for players who are of better quality.”
