Hull City striker Sone Aluko not ready for return
Hull City’s top goalscorer Sone Aluko is losing his battle to make a comeback from injury next week, despite making a return to light training.
After missing their attacking talisman for the last four weeks with an Achilles injury, the Tigers had been cautiously optimistic that Aluko would be able to play some part either in next Tuesday’s home game with Blackburn or the trip to Bolton a week tomorrow.

Sone Aluko: May not have recovered in time for Blackburn game
However, any hopes of featuring against Blackburn are now rated as “extremely unlikely” following a training session back in the first-team fold on Thursday.
City’s medical staff are loath to push Aluko’s recovery and see a recurrence of the injury aggravated last month, and a more realistic target may be a reunion with boyhood club Birmingham City on March 2.

“Sone did a little bit on the grass with us but it still looks a way off,” Bruce told the Mail.
“We’ll see how it is but it wasn’t great on the evidence of yesterday.
“There’s certainly no chance for Saturday and unless something changes remarkably over the weekend, I would say Tuesday was extremely unlikely unfortunately. It’s not the sort of injury you want to rush.”

“I totally agree Mikemadrid,6 points would be a massive cushion and would drop all the pressure back on them....Big effort required tomorrow and get those 3 points chalked up!!!UTT”

“I agree. No rush. just follow the doctor's orders. On another subject. Leicester don't play tomorrow, so we could be 6 points ahead by tea time! Yes, I know they'll have 2 games in hand, but having the points on them will be nice! Good luck lads.”

“No need to rush Aluko at all. We are doign very well without him. I would get him back for the run in which is far tougher than the next few weeks. By the way, Aluko has not scored since November anyway and we did quite well in December when his first injury occured.”

“Just don't rush him, better to make a full recovery than to only make it worse..”

“As Steve Bruce would say 'this has been 'wor' achilles heel.
If the severity of this injury is the same as Matty Fryatt's was I'd totally agree, get the op sorted now, and hopefully he won't then miss all of next season.
The rising star of Gedo, although I cannot wait to see them play together, has placed a little less urgency on the return of Sone.”

“Keep him for next season in the Prem, he will be a revelation.”

“Suggest he has the op NOW so that both he and Fryatt can be fit to spearhead the team next season. These sort of injuries rarely cure themselves and all this pussyfooting about now will not work. Look at the farce with Fryatt and the time it took for him to go under the knife.”

“Don't rush him back! Let's just make sure we have Aluko & Gedo fit for the run-in.”

“The worry here is that the injury will in any case recur possibly requiring an operation - thus writing off the rest of the season and possibly some of next. Ok doomsday scenario, but nevertheless a worry. This does not sound good. However, fingers crossed its just being cautious - or even a curved ball to opposition managers?”
