THE Tigers will welcome back Peter Gulacsi to serve as understudy to Vito Mannone in goal after choosing not to extend a loan deal for Trevor Carson.

Gulacsi has not played since the New Year’s Eve defeat at Burnley where he suffered a knee injury.

Treatment came at parent club Liverpool but having returned to the Tigers’ fold this month, he will provide goalkeeping cover tonight.

Adriano Basso is also back in training but City continue to manage the tendonitis problem in his knee.

Manager Nick Barmby is again blessed with an otherwise fully-fit squad to select from.

Tonight’s fixture is the last game before City begin a hectic March schedule so Barmby is unlikely to stray too far from the side that claimed a 0-0 draw at Birmingham eight days ago.

Cameron Stewart, dropped to the bench for the game at St Andrews, could be handed a recall at the expense of either Aaron Mclean or Robbie Brady, while Seyi Olofinjana is also champing at the bit for a rare start.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls welcome back a trio of players as they look to shake off Sunday’s 6-1 FA Cup hiding at Liverpool.

Former Scunthorpe midfielder Matt Sparrow served the third and final game of his suspension at Anfield, while on-loan full-backs Joe Mattock and Gonzalo Jara Reyes will also be available after missing out when cup-tied.

All three will be included in the travelling party, along with Gai Assulin and Abdul Razak, who both joined on loan from Manchester City last week.

Gus Poyet will make changes from the weekend’s FA Cup exit as he looks to maintain an unbeaten run in the Championship dating back to New Year’s Eve.

There is a question mark hanging over the fitness of influential midfielder Liam Bridcutt after he suffered a back injury at Anfield but Poyet will hope to see him available.

Craig Mackail-Smith could be restored to the starting XI tonight as Brighton select from a decent pool of attacking talent that also includes Sam Vokes and Will Buckley.

An FA Cup hiding at Liverpool on Sunday was Brighton’s first defeat of 2012 but it should not detract from their improving fortunes.

Five wins and two draws from their last seven league games has catapulted the Seagulls to within touching distance of the play-off places after a run of four defeats ended 2011 on a low note.

Brighton’s form away from the Amex Stadium has been indifferent, but back-to-back wins at Leeds and Peterborough make them a dangerous visitor.

“Cameron Stuart should start in place of Brady and Olifinjana MUST start for whoever, preferably for Evans.

I think we might just edge this one 2-1”
