Hull FC: Gentle admits 'big lessons' must be learned from Salford loss
FRUSTRATED Hull FC coach Peter Gentle says his side have a "big lesson to learn" from their disappointing 24-22 loss at Salford last night.
The Aussie admitted his side had been beaten by the better team, describing their own performance as "uncharacteristic".

A penalty from Salford's Daniel Holdsworth just two minutes from time proved the difference on the scoreboard, but Gentle said the home side had been far better on the night.
"I wasn't happy with the result, but I was more disappointed with the way we played," he said.

"Take out the 15 or 20 minutes before half-time, when we came back, and they were playing in a different gear to us.
"We weren't in the hunt for a long time and we have a lot of work to do.
"People were going away from the game-plan rather than doing what works for us and that is a big lesson to learn. There were too many individual plays rather than team play and we need to get our house in order."

“No hiding from the fact it was a poor result and a very poor performance.
I felt at the start of the season our pack was too light but what do I know.
I would like to say to those idiots at the game who spend all there time ****ging off the players back your team or stay at home, your driving me nuts with your negativity
On a side note I was impressed with Salford's new stadium much better than I expected.”

“On this form Hull will gain around 27 points in total for the season,
History tells us over the last 5 seasons this will gain teams a 7th or 8th place finish in the table
I would hope Hull pick up as the season progreses and one extra win every now and then would push that average up to around 30/34 points for the season total pushing the league postion up to a respectable 4th or 5th spot in the table
So I perdict Hull will be 4th maybe 5th come the end of the season
and to be fair I would be happy at that and then hope for a good run in playoffs
Now I know some dobbins fans will spout off at me saying I am dreaming but the numbers dont lie and will be interesting to see if my predtion is right"”
