HULL FC will field two separate sides in Sunday's opening pre-season friendly against Castleford Tigers.

Coach Peter Gentle says he's opted for the unusual approach to reduce the level of disruption to the game.

Hull welcome the Tigers to the KC for their first run-out of 2013, a game which forms the centre-piece of Kirk Yeaman's testimonial season.

All the Black and Whites' new signings will make their debut in the friendly, with Gentle set to field between 28 and 30 players.

The squad will be split into two teams, each playing 40 minutes. But despite the unusual approach, the Hull coach insists he's eager to see his side begin the year with a victory.

"We are treating this as any other game. You can say it is only a trial but we want to win every game we play," Gentle told the Mail.

"It won't be the end of the world if we don't win, but it will be disappointing.

"We'll be giving about 28 players a hit-out so I intend to go with two separate teams.

"All the guys that didn't come to Tenerife like Richard Horne and the younger blokes will all be playing.

"We will run a team in each half to try and keep the disruption in the game down to a minimum with each team having 40 minutes, but everyone will get a chance to impress."

Tickets for Yeaman's testimonial game, kick-off 2pm, are still available.

Entrance can be gained via the turnstiles on the day of the game at a cost of £12 adult, £6 children and concessions.

Tickets to the Kingston Suite can be purchased from the main reception on the day at a cost of £5, providing access to the after-match hospitality and presentations with all the players and coaching staff in attendance.
