ASSISTANT coach Andy Hay says Hull FC must pick up immediately from where they finished at St Helens and start at their best against Warrington on Saturday,

The Black and Whites drew praise for the character shown in coming back against St Helens last week, snatching a draw following a dominant second-half display.

Hay insists Hull enter this Saturday’s televised clash at the KC confident of beating one of the favourites to win Super League.

But he says they must start in much better fashion than they did at Saints.

“At St Helens we didn’t start so strong, but in the second-half we came on strong and looked the better team,” Hay told the Mail.

“We finished off the game really well at Saints, it has to start again from the kick-off against Warrington and we have to continue where we left off and start well.

“We are coming to win the game, not to compete against them and perform well, we are coming to win the game.”

Hull boast a win, loss and draw from their opening three games, but will fancy their chances against the unbeaten Wolves given their impressive record at the KC.

Having improved with each performance, Hay says the Black and Whites are reasonably happy with the start they’ve made.

“We’d have liked to have blown Leeds away in round one, but that didn’t happen. Since then we’ve made a steady progression in each round,” Hay said.

“We did a good job on Bradford and picked away at their weaknesses well and we finished the better side at St Helens.

“We are generally happy with where we are.

“Warrington are a top team, though, and they are one of only two teams without a loss this season. They haven’t changed their personnel from last season and it’s a good strong squad.”

“3biesgalore/ You are 100% right, I am also feeling good about playing anyone, just remember a few years ago at the KC and a Wigan team full of youngsters kicked our backsides! and I remember at the time they had all their big guns missing, Hull went on the field in big time charlie mode, but no one had told Wigan!”

“Hello every one, 3biesgalore/ It remains Warrington we are playing, sometimes supporters especially, get caught up in who and who is not playing, the old principals have not changed, play as a team regardless of the opposition, and you will have a chance, if we do not play as a team, we will not beat the "Wire" no matter who is, or who is not playing, concentrate on our own strengths, one thing is for sure, we will be playing an unbeaten side, with the same ammount of players, go u ulla!!”
