HULL FC coach Peter Gentle says he's looking forward to putting the final pieces of his 2013 plan together in Tenerife.

Hull head out for a week of warm-weather training on Thursday, with Gentle relishing the opportunity of switching the focus of pre-season to skill sessions.

"The players have had it tough so far and there will be no let-up in Tenerife because it will be double sessions each day," Gentle told the Mail.

"We've laid the foundations in the hard work we've done before Christmas and now it is a case of putting the pieces together.

"Most of our work in Tenerife will be skill based and structures.

"We'll be walking the players through a lot of things and tweaking how we want to play."

Hull's players will spend eight days in Tenerife, with 13 field sessions, four gym sessions and two conditioning sessions planned.

Gentle has an intense week in the sun mapped out to prepare his side for the start of their pre-season friendly fixtures upon their return.

"It will be tough, but importantly we'll get through a lot of work too," Gentle added.

"We need to work on our attacking and defensive structures, but we are just tweaking things and not overhauling it all like we did last year.

"We need to work on our kicking game and that will be a key part of what we do too."

Key to that area will be new signing Daniel Holdsworth, who arrived over Christmas and will link up with Richard Horne and Brett Seymour for the first time.

"It will be great to have the halves all with us and on the field," Gentle added.

"Daniel is looking forward to getting started and we are looking forward to having him out there with us."

“In Peter the Great we trust. Silver in 2013 and the beating of Wigan at home and Leeds away.”
