RICHARD Whiting says an enforced two-week break has made Hull FC hungry to impress this weekend.

Following last week's cancelled game against Catalan Dragons, Hull return to action on Sunday when they host London Broncos at the KC Stadium.

Disregarding any suggestions the team's stop-start opening to the season will affect the players this week, Whiting says he expects Hull's disappointment at failing to play in France to be a positive.

"Having a week when you don't play makes you more hungry to play and the boys are certainly hungry this week," Whiting told the Mail.

"With the training we have done this week there shouldn't be any problem with not playing and I don't see us losing any momentum.

"We started preparing for this game as soon as the Catalan game was called off and we are ready to get back out there and get our first win."

Boosted by the return of scrum-half Brett Seymour for the clash against the Broncos, Hull are bidding to build on their opening round draw against Warrington with a debut Super League win for coach Peter Gentle.

Focusing on the positives of that draw against competition favourites Warrington, Whiting says Hull's performances at training this week have convinced him the Black and Whites will raise their game again.

"The last time we played we pushed Warrington close and they are a side tipped for the top this year, so we have to take confidence from that," added Whiting.

"We have looked pretty good at training this week and we've looked sharp too so I'm confident come Sunday we'll play well."

“No wonder nobody wanted to go and watch the game of touch rugby played by the Dobbins and Saints yesterday, why would anyone want to pay good money to watch a team (Dobbins) who have no idea about defence in a ground which to quote your Chairman is "not fit for purpose",only to be attacked at the end of the game by the East Hull yobbos.
Another embarrassing incident yesterday when the electricity failed yet again at the ground !!! The RFL can't let this go on, Caravan Park is a disgrace to Rugby League.
The Dobbins were lucky to get a point after all the Saints scored 7 tries to Rovers 6 and only a rare off day by Foster saved them and they can't make excuses about having no halfs because Saints were without their star half back Gaskell.
Warrington even with all their injuries will put 50 points passed them and the Dobbins next home game will attract no more than 5,000.”
