Hull FC set to sign Lopini Paea from Catalan as Eamon O'Carroll heads for exit
HULL FC are confident of winning the race to sign Catalans' international prop Lopini Paea.
The 28-year-old has been a big hit in Super League since arriving in France from the Sydney Roosters.
He is believed to have attracted interest from six Super League clubs keen to take him on next season.
His current club Catalan are also desperate to retain him and are thought to have offered him improved terms to stay on.

However, sources have told the Mail the player is keen to play his rugby in Hull, where his brother Mickey currently plays for rivals Hull KR.
The news will be welcomed by FC fans, who learned over the weekend that prop Eamon O'Carroll is to leave.
He confirmed his imminent departure on his Twitter account, and played no part at Warrington yesterday.
The Mail understands his three-year contract will be officially terminated by mutual agreement this week.
It comes just eight-months after signing from Wigan, with a move to the Widnes Vikings looking on the cards.
Having completed the signing of Liam Watts on a three-and-a-half year contract, Hull will now hope to add the powerful Paea to their pack.
The Tongan, who can also play second row, is thought to have told his agent to ensure a deal can be struck with the Black and Whites in the coming weeks.
Cross-city rivals Hull KR are also believed to have spoken to Paea, but Hull's offer, combined with an opportunity to play alongside Gareth Ellis, have helped swing the deal in FC's favour.
Half-back Jamie Ellis has also confirmed he is to move to Castleford Tigers next season, as had been expected.
