Former Hull FC star Steve Prescott hits £100k target
EAST YORKS: A former Hull FC player has praised the efforts of the region in helping reach his fundraising goal of £100,000 this year.
The Steve Prescott Foundation supports The Christie cancer hospital in Manchester and Try Assist, the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.
Mr Prescott MBE, diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer, said: "It has been a tough year financially but thanks to people's generosity we have managed to achieve our goal.
"When I look back at the events in 2012 it has been a phenomenal effort by all concerned.

Among the fundraising events included the Paris to London marathon challenge - which saw Steve, along with former Great Britain captain Paul Sculthorpe run the Parish marathon, cycle from Paris to Calais, row across the English Channel, cycle from Dover to London, and run the London marathon.
Overall £420,000 has been raised.
