“Accidents do happen at any time, but the chances of this happening on a Friday evening are always increased. The M62 on a Friday afternoon /evening can be a hairy place, not the place for rugby supporters/players trying to meet time schedules. Bring back Sunday rugby.”

“Well at least for the Hull fans this wasn't a repeat of the debacle trip to the South of France to have the game called off. If you're ever trapped in a traffic jam like that it's frustrating because of the lack of information and the endless waiting for movement or news. Let's hope the delay to the game doesn't affect the mindset of the players, and the fans can enjoy a quality match on Sunday.”

“The Hull team should have scrounged a lift on the away side coach. Never mind, I wonder if the Bradford guys used the opportunity to sample our excellent friday nightlife while they were here. Not as safe as a night on the pitch but a change at least.”

“Sounds like the road is still shut http://tinyurl.com/296w6
M62 | Humberside | Both directions | Overturned vehicle | Road closed
The M62 in Humberside is closed in both directions between the junctions J34 (A19, Selby) and J35 (with the M18) due to an overturned tanker and chemical spillage.
The M18 northbound link to the M62 westbound is also closed due to this incident.
We are working with all our partners to get the road re-opened as soon as possible. The incident is being led by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service who are dealing with the chemical spillage.
Diversion routes have been implemented.
Eastbound traffic must follow the "Hollow triangle" diversion route signs exiting the M62 J34 onto the A19 north, A63 east, A1041 south, A645 east then the A614 to rejoin the M62 at J36
Westbound traffic must follow the solid circle diversion route signs, which is the reverse of the eastbound diversion route.

“Glad to hear no one died and hope they recover. It was a shame no one seemed to know what was going on but is that really the club's fault? Some FC players are West Yorkshire lads so why can't they commute to work. Hopefully this won't happen again. Roll on Sunday.”

“No one died!!! It was oil from the tanker on the carriageway that closed the road!”

“David, no one is disputing the cancellation of the match or the sad death of a person but we are entitled to question Hulls handling of the situation, I sat in the car listening to speculation until 1930 (with no official word from Hull) then walked to the ground to be told (by the club tanoy) at 1945 that it was on, 20 mins later Humberside announce it is off, 15 mins later Hull tell the fans inside the ground! that is not acceptable given there was a significant amount of information reported before 1900 that Hull players were stranded with little chance of getting there, what changed between 1945 and 20.05 to go from being on to being off?”

“Poor comments. I think someone died in the road crash. People were stuck in the traffic for hours. The Bradford coach was given a police escort. The Hull players travelling from that area wasn't so they was stuck. I'm sure they set off in plenty of time. Do you expect them to be sat at the KC all day long?”
