The final countdown to Hull Fair is on.

Opening this Friday and running until Saturday October 13 (excluding Sunday), the fair will attract thousands of visitors to west Hull.

Where possible, the council recommends to help cut down on road congestion by using public transport as much as possible over the fair's duration.

Road Closures:

Walton Street will be closed from 7pm on Wednesday 3 October to 12 noon on Sunday 14 October.

Walker Street - Anlaby Road junction to Carnegie Street North kerb side junction – will be closed from Friday 5 October to Saturday 13 October, 4.30 – 11pm daily, to assist with the one way system for the car park in West Park and the safe traffic movement in the area.

Public Transport Information:

Stagecoach

All the below buses will terminate at the West Park lay by on Anlaby Road heading out of the City Centre:

Service 31F - North Bransholme, Noddle Hill Way, Barnstaple Rd, Holwell Rd, Sutton Rd, Gillshill Rd, Summergangs Rd, Holderness Rd, City Centre, Anlaby Rd.

Service 43F - Bilton Grange, Greatfield, Preston Rd, Holderness Rd, City Centre, Anlaby Rd.

Service 51F - Kingswood, North Point, Spring Cottage, Bellfield Ave, Holderness Rd, City Centre, Anlaby Rd.

Return journeys will be from the West Park layby on Anlaby Road heading into the city centre.

Buses will operate to the fair 4 – 7pm, Monday to Friday, and 1-7pm on Saturdays.

Buses will return from the fair 7.30 – 11pm, Monday to Saturday.

Extra journeys will operate on Service 31F and 51F from the fair on Saturdays from 2.15pm.

East Yorkshire Motor Services

For the duration of Hull Fair EYMS will be operating normal services with duplication where necessary plus special services from Bilton/Asda (Service 56F) and Cottingham The Lawns (Ser 65F).

Service 56F will depart Bilton Asda at 5.40pm and every 20 minutes until 8.30pm, returning from Anlaby Road (Walton Street) at 6.20pm and at frequent intervals until 11pm.

Service 65F will depart Cottingham (The Lawns) at 6.35pm and every 20 minutes until 9.35pm, returning from Spring Bank (Walton Street) at 8.05pm and every 20 minutes until 11.05pm.

Park & Ride

The C1 Humber Bridge Park & Ride will be in operation again this year.

Monday to Friday the service will run at regular intervals from 5.30 – 11pm.

On Saturdays this service will operate between 2.05 -11pm at regular intervals.

Priory Park and Ride

Services will depart as per the normal service provided by the Park & Ride timetable, from 12.30pm. On fair days this service will be supported by additional vehicles to ensure a departure every 5 minutes from Priory Park.

Vehicles departing on the hour and every 10 minutes thereafter will use the regular park & ride route until 7pm when the route will change to that used for the KC Stadium, this will continue until 11pm.

From 12.30pm additional services will be introduced in support of the fair to depart from Priory Park at 12.35pm and every 10 minutes thereafter until 10.55pm

The fares for these services will be:

£2.50 Adult £1.00 Child £6.00 Family (2 Adults and 3 Children max)
