Hull Fair: open for business
Hull Fair 2012 is officially open.
Lord Mayor Danny Brown rang the bell to open the fair at around 5.30pm tonight - but hundreds had already flocked to Walton Street to join in the fun.

Chairman of the Yorkshire section of the Showman's Guild Mathew Morley said this year the fair had even bigger rides than it's arch rival, Nottingham Goose Fair.

Jane Pickering, of Bransholme, was there for the opening.
She said: "We come every year - it is hard not to with kids."
There are more than 250 rides this year, with everything from traditional waltzers and dodgems to new and exciting rides such as the Starflyer, the tallest ride in the country.
Mike Fieldsend, 30, was there with his two-year-old daughter Holly.
He said: "We have been coming every year since we were kids and we brought Holly last year. It is a tradition now every October isn't it? It is great."
Children's rides will open at 2pm for the rest of the fair, with the whole fair opening at 5pm and running til 11pm.
