Hull and Humber Clipper leading race
The Hull and Humber Clipper is on-track to win the unofficial Battle of Biscay.
With only a few miles to go before rounding Cape Finisterre, the team has a comfortable lead on the rest of the fleet which are taking part in the first leg of the Clipper 09-10 Round The World Yacht Race.

The Hull and Humber Clipper
The Spanish Bay of Biscay has the reputation of being one of the most feared stretches of ocean in the world.
Overnight several of the teams have been struggling with sailing under spinnaker in the dark – resulting in the challenge of untangling a sail the size of tennis court.
Skipper of Hull and Humber Piers Dudin, said: “Unfortunately last night, the end of our spinnaker pole managed to poke a hole in the kite, causing a small rip, which was a shame but not a disaster.
“In the end we managed to get away with minor damage and a lot of good experience.”
The Hull and Humber, now on its way to Portugal, is one of 10 yachts taking part in the 35,000-mile race around the world, which started and will finish, in Hull.

“Garry the grass, you would have great difficulty using your "torpeado" as such a thing does not exist!
The word is torpedo, but why would someone who delights in making idiotic observations need to learn to spell.”

“Garry you should keep your opinion to yourself because you are showing your ignorance.
It is obvious you don't know anything about the marking system
They didn't cheat, they went a little off course into a forbidden area ..they took few hours in a penalty and even then they came in 5th”
