HULL KR and new coach Craig Sandercock secured their first win of the campaign at Wakefield this afternoon with a 22-10 success.
Rovers were first to score as prop Micky Paea bundled his way over for his first try in the English game after six minutes, only for the Wildcats to hit back in the18th minute as former Robin Ben Cockayne went in at the corner.

Rhys Lovegrove scores KR's final try at Wakefield
Leading 6-4, Con Mika extended KR's advantage, diving over after Jake Webster got up the highest to claim Michael Dobson's chip kick.
However, just after the half-hour mark, Tim Smith's reverse pass cut Rovers open and allowed another of their former players, Andy Raleigh, to score, leaving the score 12-10 to KR at the break.
The game remained in the balance until with 58 minutes gone, Josh Hodgson charged through to score, with Rhys Lovegrove putting the result beyond doubt with nine minutes remaining.
Rovers played the entire second half without scrum-half Michael Dobson, who went off injured holding his shoulder.
He is due to undergo scans tomorrow, with coach Sandercock saying they are unsure of the damage at present, with his shoulder still swollen.

“The good thing is Dobbo was laughing and joking after the game and didn't have his arm secured. I am certain if it was broken that wouldn't be the case. Let's hope for the best, which would be 3 or 4 games.”

“Codhead 22, I see your point but the fans in the South of France are passionate about Rugby League. The game has been going there since the mid 30's.Things haven't gone their way in the last 30- 40 yrs. If we were to restrict RL to the M62 corridor, we would no longer be perceived by the media to be a national sport.
The Catalans are a success story and it shows what can be done if the right approach with regard to marketing the game is applied.”

“Got to say that trying to spread the gospel of rugby league over the years has failed, off the top of my head crusaders, carlisle, southend ,kent invicta, cardiff blue dragons, scarborough pirates, mansfield marksmen, nottingham, fulham have all failed .I am sure there are many others that people can name such as huyton and lancashire lynx within the M62 corridor as well,i have to agree with others and focus all our efforts in the traditional heartlands and build up clubs like halifax, leigh, oldham and the cumbrian clubs only problem is where would a cumbrian super league club play ?”
