HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock wants his side to see games out when they are in a winning position, after letting a winning position slip against St Helens.

Leading 36-34 at MS3 Craven Park with minutes to go, Saints managed to win and convert a penalty, through Jamie Foster, to sneak away with a draw.

But Sandercock wasn't happy with the way his side closed the game out and urged them not to let it happen again.

"The players will look back on those last five minutes and think they should and could have done a lot better," said Sandercock.

"They didn't and we paid the penalty.

"I've not had a good look at the penalty decision so I don't want to comment on that.

"It's very disappointing, but I will say the referee was very consistent and I was happy overall with how he refereed."

Having conceded three tries without reply in the first 15 minutes, Rovers conceded two more without reply at the start of the second period and Sandercock wants to start halves better.

"We need to address that or Warrington will put 60 on us," he said, ahead of next weekend's trip to the league's second highest scorers.

"There's a myriad of reasons why it happens. But we need to make sure we are focused when we run out on to the pitch.

"The boys' effort was outstanding and, as usual, we had injuries during the game to contend with which doesn't help.

"We need to concentrate on how we approach games. Again, we started the second half by conceding two quick tries."

Sandercock will hope his overworked medical team give him some good news on the injury front today.

Already without his first-choice half-backs, Sandercock could be without Lincoln Withers (abductor) and Josh Hodgson (ankle) who are both doubts at this stage. Dave Hodgson has torn his pectoral and faces a spell out.

“What a pity Mika and the rest of Rovers forwards can't tackle,in their three games Rovers have leaked an average of 27.33 per game,I bet Warrington are wetting themselves with fear.
Sands has got to work a lot harder on our defence,he doesn't seem to have a defence stragedy. The trouble is that we have too many players who don't hold the line and don't have a clue how to tackle,Welham,Hall and Lovegrove are the worst offenders. We can't go on conceding this amount of points,as some one said yesterday,it was like watching touch rugby.”

“Disgraceful scenes at Caravan Park yesterday i've just been told (my neighbour is a Dobbin) attacking a section of Saints supporters. I remember last time Saints came to Caravan Park, Francis Meli had a bottle of beer thrown at him. The RFL need to step in here, there's obviously a serious thug element amongst some of the KR "FANS". Shameful.”
