The Mail understands Larvin has pledged to invest a total of £15m into the Robins, with the 48-year-old telling the Mail his first payment – thought to be £5m – is ‘imminent’.
A club statement on Rovers website this morning said: “In light of recent coverage in the media we can confirm that club representatives have met with Tony Larvin regarding a substantial investment in Hull Kingston Rovers.

“Stozzafc...i'm only his cousin...all i know is that the lad has done well for himself financially...also Stozza there are a number of posters on this site who know who am I and can verify my relationship with Anthony...as I said before, people can form their own opinions but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and if Anthony invests then he invests, if he doesn't he doesn't...but at least if he does put his money into Rovers he will do so because he is a fan of the club and wants to see the club competing for honours...fans of both teams should be happy...as a city out on a limb, between us we want to wrestle back the status as the number 1 area for rugby league fro the Lancashire and West Yorkshire Mafia's...let's face it, the people in power are doing a good enough job of turning this area into a sh!t pit...let's have some good news for once...i'd love to see both teams up there but with Rovers obviously on top and I dare say it'd be the other way round for you...come on Rovers tomorrow against Wigan”

“Point understood Dasher, so if you are a relative as you say, does Tony have the money to invest?”

“Gingerbeer...I am normally quite classy...unfortunately I have read on this site for a number of years now the utter, utter drivel that Slammergiro, Slammerqueer, Eddie or whatever this excuse for a person wants to call himself, comes out with. I stopped commenting on this page some time ago because it's just grown men (I assume they're grown ups) and a few women having childish chats and trying to wind each other up. Now I know Slammergiro is just a persistently childish windup merchant, and I know I shouldn't bite, but he's starting aiming at my name which angers me. Its strange when you start seeing you're name in the paper. If we were Smiths or Jones's it's not so much of an issue, but because Larvin isn't that common it's seems strange to read it, and then you get numpties like Slammerplonk slating it.
People who know Anthony will form their own opinions on this situation. People who don't know him will believe what they want to believe, because their friends know someone who knows someone that knows Anthony and they said its fact. What will happen will happen and there's nothing you or I can do it about except support the club, regardless of who picks up the tab for the wages.”

“ok, after reading a little of this deal and of this guy. its something one might be understandably *****ly about, if it were involving your club. and on this occasion the club it involve is rovers. if the internet is anything to go by this dude is not to be trusted nor associated with, on the other hand, all superleugue clubs are rightfully open to investment.
ill be straight down the line with you, im glad its not my club because it appearers to be a genuine make or brake situation for rovers and to invest that level of trust in this character takes some real balls”
