Louise Mendham, First Hull Trains' planning and performance manager, said: "This essential, scheduled maintenance being conducted by Network Rail is part of a wider infrastructure plan to upgrade and maintain the lines.
"This will have a knock-on effect upon our services and we are sorry for any inconvenience.
"We have put adequate provisions in place to mitigate the impact as much as possible and journey times will only slightly be affected."
Further maintenance is also due to take place across Easter weekend. Other diversions via Goole will be put in place in July and August.
