Britannia banking offices in Hull's Whitefriargate to close
THE Hull branch of The Co-operative Bank's Britannia group will close as part of a major rebranding programme.
The bank, in Whitefriargate, will be one of 37 branches confirmed in the move that will see the Britannia name disappear from the high street.
-

The Britannia branch in Whitefriargate is due to close.
Branches are being shut where there is another close by – on average within half a mile – as part of an overhaul following its merger with Britannia building society in 2009.
The move will lead to 34 job losses, largely at a managerial level, while the bulk of the 188 staff employed across affected banks are being relocated to neighbouring branches. It is not known if any jobs will be lost in Hull.

“Yes, I agree with miss-behaving - up to a point.
It is true that most banks are more crooked than the bent man who 'went a crooked mile'. That's why we, all of us, are paying through the nose to bail-out the cheating BIG bucks boys and girls who bankrupted Britain, so that they can receive their latest bonuses, untaxed, in anonymous bank accounts in the Cayman Islands, etc.
'The other side of the coin' - our largely corrupted coinage - is that anybody who has a Co-op account really does part-own the bank, with voting rights. We even receive a 'divvi' cheque each year - just ask your Mum or your Nan if you don't know about 'divvi'!”

“Oh, such a pity, particularly for those who lose their jobs, of course.
Having an account with Britannia, I can state that their staff have always been most friendly, courteous and helpful.
Equally, with a Co-op Bank account, I can say the same about their personnel.”

“They are closing down because there is no money in banking anymore!!! people are stuffing their money in home safes now to save from the taxman and thieving bankers, loss of interest is less than the taxmans cut. in britain your taxed from birth to death and then the laim government still claw back all they can to feed thier own greedy thieving ways”
