Hull firm raided over horsemeat scandal

MEAT samples have been seized from a premises in Hull by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

In a statement from the FSA it said officers went to three premises in England, one in Hull and two in Tottenham, London.

Computers and documents were removed as well as the meat as officers went into the premises with local authority officers and police.

The growing scandal, which has seen more than 10 million items removed from supermarket shelves, began last month when equine DNA was found in Irish beef burgers.

So far two people have been arrested for fraud in relation to the use of horse meat in the food chain.
