Babies Jacob, Charlotte and Amelia won’t have to look far for a play mate when they get older.

“It is nice they will all have playmates so close by,” said Charlotte, 26.

“All the other babies are girls, so my son Jacob will have his pick!”

For Toni, 26, baby Amelia Cunnington is nothing short of a miracle.

Toni and her partner were told they couldn’t have children because Toni had previously suffered from ovarian cancer.

Toni said: “I came off the pill and we were looking into IVF treatments.

“But, two weeks later, I became pregnant naturally.

“When I did the test, I was really scared. I was told my remaining tube was blocked so I was worried it would be an ectopic pregnancy.

“But when I had the scan, I was elated – everything was fine.”

Amelia arrived on November 30, 11 days late and one day before Toni was going to be induced.

A few weeks earlier, her little neighbour Charlotte had been born to mum Samantha Brooks, 32.

Samantha and her husband Darren, 32, had been hoping for a home birth, but their baby instead arrived at Hull’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Samantha said: “I wanted a little girl and told all my friends I was having a girl who weighed 6lb – and I was right.

“But we had picked out boys’ and girls’ names, just in case.

“Funnily enough, our list did include Amelia and Jacob. But we went with Charlotte, which is Jacob’s mum’s name.”

Charlotte Hutley, 26, and her partner Rich Dunn, 25, have the youngest baby of the group – Jacob.

Jacob Dunn was born on January 6 at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Charlotte said: “Jacob was a week early and he came along the day before Rich was due back at work.

“We are both teachers so he was about to start the new term.

“I went into labour on the Sunday morning and had him Sunday evening.

“He is a really smiley and giggly baby – he loves cuddles and his eyes follow us around the room wherever we go.”

The three women will all be marking their first Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Charlotte said: “I’ve been hinting to Rich it would be nice to get a present or do something special, but I don’t know what is happening yet.”

Samantha will be spending time with her own mum and Darren’s mother.

She said: “We’re off to see the grandmas, our own mums.

“We’re going out next week, because that is my birthday – Charlotte loves eating out for lunch.”

And finally there is Toni and her partner, who will celebrate the day by meeting some more newborns.

She said: “We’re off to the lambing day at Bishop Burton.

“They’ll be very cute, but it should be interesting having a young baby with us.”
