Hull's Comet business centre closes its doors for good
Comet Business Centre has closed its doors for good.
The remaining 18 employees at Comet's business centre in George Street, Hull, left this afternoon, some after being there for their entire working lives.
There were tears as the staff left their jobs at Comet for the final time.

“It's absolutely disgraceful that a company that has been in existence for 80 years and founded in Hull has gone into liquidation when some of it's competition don't even pay tax in this country. It's even more disgraceful that a company can be sold and then stripped of it's stock by selling it at knock down prices then leaving the government to foot the bill for redundancy which funds of course, come from all us who are still lucky to be paying tax.”
