Hull's County Road North to be closed for seven weeks
A seven-week programme of repairs will start at the County Road flyover in west Hull next Monday.
Hull City Council is advising residents and motorists County Road North will be closed to through traffic between Priory Road and National Avenue.
Vehicle access for residents and businesses along the affected length of County Road North, Sorrel Drive and Langdale Avenue will be maintained at all times.
Due to the nature of the repairs, vehicles will not have access across the bridge. However, the bridge will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists for the duration of the works.

The signed traffic diversion will be via Calvert Road, Spring Bank West, Chanterlands Avenue and Bricknell Avenue.
Councillor Martin Mancey, portfolio holder for environment, transport and emergency planning, apologised for any inconvenience.
He said: "The application of road salt has a detrimental effect on bridges generally and in this case the reinforced concrete supporting the bridge has become contaminated following many years of winter gritting.
"We appreciate and apologise for the inconvenience to road users during these works but if the structure is not repaired it will become weakened.
"These concrete repairs are necessary to maintain the strength and integrity of the bridge so that it will last for many more years."

“I believe councils used to be allocated a budget for road maintenance every 6 months (to April & October). They had to leave x amount aside in case of emergencies, but if they didn't spend their allocation it was reduced next time around, so late March & September there was always a rash of roadworks to make sure they spent up. Not sure if this still happens but it's looking that way.”

“Which fool authorised this work during Hull Fair week, oh yes Martin 'no idea' Mancey. This work should have been done during the summer break when the amount of traffic was reduced due to less people commuting.
So what will happen when the fair is on, Spring Bank West has road works on it, Chants has Roadworks, there is going to be monumental chaos.

“This wouldn't be so bad if there weren't roadworks on Chants Ave, Bricknell Ave and on Hull Road in Cottingham which means that the two possible diversion routes are not operating properly. I'd love to know who deals with the timing of these roadworks, it would appear to be a 2 year old child.
Clearly you don't have to use the roads around the area David1123. We know that the work has to be done but to coincide it with the works mentioned above is beyond stupidity and will be a massive ball ache for everyone.”

“just great!! Spring bank west is already chocca in the monring, adding to that the loads of traffic that goes down County road, the roads will be chaos. i just hope the council finish the roadworks down chants or it will be even worse! you have had the whole summer to do this, why choose to do it as soon as people and kids are back at work/school! idiotic”
