Hull sizzles in summer temperatures
The city is today enjoying temperatures on a par with European holiday hotspots as the predicted warm spell continues.
The mercury reached a high of 18 degrees - the same as in Alicante, Spain and Faro, Portugal.

Hull has seen summer temperatures over the past two days
It also meant Hull was hotter than Corfu, where it is 14 degrees and raining, and Malta, where it is a cloudy 16 degrees.
As reported, the Met Office is forecasting unseasonably warm weather for East Yorkshire between now and Friday.

“18 degrees...brhhh! It was a very pleasant 30 degrees here yesterday. Also, if it is 'sizzling' why is the man in the picture wearing a shirt, jumper and coat (there's probably a vest under that lot too!). Not only is this not newsworthy, HDM couldn't even try to add credibility to the story by attaching a reasonably relevant picture. What will happen when the temperature 'soars' into the mid 20s. I fear the 'reporters' at HDM will be checking their online thesaurus and using words like scorcher, heatwave and meltdown.”

“Let me tell you, Hull is nothing like Alicante. Show me the bikini's, sea front bars and blue sea in Hull. I rest my case.”
