Hull warehouse theft leads to fears industrial alcohol could explode
A SAFETY warning has been issued after thieves stole 100 litres of industrial alcohol from a Hull warehouse.
Police are concerned the quantity of alcohol, which was taken on Monday night, is unstable and could cause an explosion if exposed to the atmosphere.

It is believed the offenders, who forced their way into storage units in the rear yard of GKD Litho Limited’s premises on Strawberry Street, might be trying to manufacture vodka with the liquid, unaware of the risks involved.
Detective Sergeant Craig Nicholson from the Priority Crime Team in Hull said: “We have no indication as to what the alcohol was stolen for but clearly the manufacture of vodka is a possibility and the fact is that if it comes into contact with air it could well result in some sort of explosion which could potentially be a danger to the public.
