Humber can be 'global centre for renewables' - East Riding director
The Humber region has the potential to become a "global centre of excellence" for renewable energy technology, according to a senior East Riding Council director.
Councillors on the authority's environment and regeneration scrutiny committee are due to discuss a wide-ranging report on renewable energy issues at a meeting later this week.

In the report, the council's director of planning and economic regeneration Alan Menzies says: "The Humber region is becoming an important area for the growth of the renewable energy sector in all its forms.
"It has the potential to become a centre of excellence in global terms for the development, manufacturing and servicing of renewable technologies and the next few years offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capitalise on this potential."
