Police are hunting thieves  who stole a tree from a Pocklington churchyard.

The 4ft yew tree had been donated to All Saints Church along with five others.

Town clerk Richard Wood said he was appealing for the tree to be returned.

He said: “We must get it back. It was given to All Saints by donation in memory of loved ones. It’s a speciality tree and it is so sad  it has been stolen.”
