Hymers College road plan deferred by Hull councillors
HULL: Approval of a planning application for a new entrance and access road to Hymers College has been deferred by a planning committee.
The proposals for a road and footpath off Sunny Bank received 103 letters of objection from residents.
The plans include building an internal road, with parking for about 15 cars.
The application, which was recommended for approval by a planning committee, has been criticised for the proposed felling of 18 mature trees in the area. Concerns were also raised about the effect the new entrance would have on traffic.

“The plans include building an internal road, with parking for about 15 cars. Or 3 4x4 vehicles owned by rude people who think they own the road. I drive past Hymers every day at chucking out time. Ignorant and arrogant does not even begin to describe the attitude of some 'drivers' leaving Hymers Ave.”

“Ahem... not everyone that goes there is a "toff", mate... ;-)
I would like to think the woodland surrounding the school would be preserved rather than ripped apart to make way for some tarmac. I can't see why they need another entrance there anyway.”
