THE Reyta Awards were founded four years ago to celebrate an industry that is estimated to be worth £615m a year to The East Yorkshire economy.

Visit Hull and East Yorkshire tourism manager Andy Gray says this year's awards are shaping up to be the best yet, with a record number of entries.

He said: "There has been a fantastic response and these are the most hotly contested Reytas since the awards began."

Reyta co-ordinator Paul Vinsen said: "There are some great shortlisted entries in the pubs category and all of them highlight the tremendous efforts that go into running what remain such a vital part of our communities."
