Jane Marshall pays tribute to son Lewis Redshaw after crash
THE heartbroken mum of an East Yorkshire teenager killed in car crash has described him as one in a million.
Grieving Jane Marshall said the tragic death of son 19-year-old Lewis Redshaw had left an irreplaceable gap in the lives of her family.
The youngster was killed when his green BMW crashed at Argham crossroads between Grindale and Burton Fleming.
Mother-of-four Mrs Marshall, from Bridlington, said: "Lewis was such a kind and caring son.
"He had a wicked sense of humour and had a strong enthusiastic character which filled a room and made everyone smile.
"My son was one in a million and he has left an irreplaceable gap in the lives of my family."
She revealed that Lewis was a part-time lifeguard who had recently saved a boy's life in a swimming pool incident at Cayton Bay, near Scarborough, and had received a bravery commendation,
The tragic teenager, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a former pupil at Headlands School in Bridlington, and was studying accountancy at East Riding College.
He was a fan of reggae music legend Bob Marley and accomplished one of his biggest ambitions by visiting the singer's grave in Jamaica last year.
While in Jamaica in November, the youngster was invited to meet Bob Marley's brother.
Mrs Marshall said Lewis was a practical joker who loved listening to music, especially that of his idol Marley, and weight training.
She added: "I couldn't have wished for a better son.
"We had a special bond and he was always there for me, filling me with pride everyday.
"Lewis will leave a big hole in a lot of people's lives, and because of his young and enthusiastic outlook on life, people who knew him will look back and smile at his memory."
