JADE Inman has overcome a series of injuries to take her place in the Great Britain squad for her first ever international competition.

At the end of 2009, the two-time national judo champion became the youngest girl to gain a place on the English Talent Development squad at just 14 years of age.

Following on from this, Inman has now been picked to represent Team GB at an international meeting in Madrid in Spain this weekend.

The South Holderness Technology College pupil has had to contend with a series of injury problems since winning the national title in October for the second year in a row.

The judo star was off training for eight weeks after sustaining a head injury and severe concussion soon after, which saw her spend time in hospital.

After returning to train at the Karen Briggs MBE School of Judo in Hull, Inman then injured her foot in training.

At first it was feared she had broken her foot, but she has since shrugged off the injury and worked hard with extra sessions and rehab work to get back in time for her Spanish adventure.
