Just Save indoor market set to open
A huge indoor market is about to open on the site of a former west Hull supermarket.
The market, called Just Save, will house 36 stalls as well as a butchers, a greengrocers, a cafe and a bike shop.

ALL YOU NEED: Sue Davies, front, with traders, from left, Lynn McLachlan, Gav Hillaby, Reice Gibbons, Mike Holmes, Paul Shepard, Brian Savage and Janet Bales at Just Save.
It will open tomorrow on the site of the former Kwik Save on the junction of Spring Bank West and Calvert Lane.
The building stood empty for two and a half years until it was leased to John and Sue Davies and their friends Jacqui Thompson and Stuart Sands.
The group, who all live in the Boothferry area, dreamed up the idea of a major new store in October last year.
Mrs Davies said: "The idea was to have everything under one roof.
"We put our heads together when we were speaking about the dire need in the area for somewhere for people to do their shopping.
"We saw the building a couple of days later and decided to go for it."
They funded the entire venture themselves, putting all their money together to pay for a 10-year lease.
Since then, they have carried out a major DIY revamp of the premises.
Mrs Davies said: "We did all the work ourselves, except for getting in a plumber and an electrician.
"The building was in a very bad state, with graffiti all over the windows and no plumbing.
"We have worked seven days a week, 8am until midnight, with only Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off.
"The men did most of the DIY and Jacqui and I did the painting."
Prior to launching this project Mrs Davies ran a burger van, while her husband was a carpet fitter.
Ms Thompson and Mr Sands have both worked in marketing but none of the group have previous retail experience .
The four will be joint managers of the market.
They have employed a team of local traders to stock and man the market, including Hull-based Dennis Butler's fruit and vegetables, meat from the city's Master Butcher and bags from M&D Fashions.
Mrs Davies said: "Everyone has got their own area for the stalls.
"We want to keep everyone happy at affordable prices."
The Just Save owners have received huge support for their endeavours from other local residents who have been concerned about the lack of nearby shops since Kwik Save closed in 2007.
The nearest major convenience store is Netto on Anlaby Road.
Councillor Patricia Ellis, who represents the Boothferry Ward, will officially open Just Save.
She said: "We have been well aware of the need for some local shopping opportunities for some time.
"This will provide a service that is very much needed.
"I just hope they are successful."

“Brilliant idea. Its about time we had a choice in the area. Its only a 10 minute walk for me and I think alot of local residence will use it. Hope it goes well for the four people that have taken a risk. We need to support small businesses otherwise the area will die. Not all people can get to the town or bigger shops.”

“Well done the four musketters for your good idea and following it through, best of luck I'm sure it will do very well. By the picture above I see there may be a cafe and possibly a toilet both go down well even in small shopping areas. It's even hard to find a loo in town these days except Victroria Square”

“Congratulations to all four of them, many years ago similar ventures turned into what we now call The COOP or M&S.”
