Landlady donates Wassand Arms pub to Hull charity
A PUB landlady will donate one of her venues to a charity helping children with special needs.
Landlady Sue Perkins is giving the Wassand Arms in west Hull to the Echoes Foundation, after hearing its founder Claire Stockton talk about her passion and ambition for the charity.

The Echoes Foundation supports families who have children with special and additional needs.
It was set up in 2008 and inspired by Claire's son Finley, 6, who has an undiagnosed brain disorder.

The charity will put on themed nights at the pub, off Hessle Road, including rock, pop and pie and pea suppers.
Claire said: "This could not have come at a better time.
"We are so grateful for what Sue has done.
"We will open the pub initially on a Friday and Saturday night.
"We will have all sorts of themed nights, including rock revival, live bands, a race night and pie and pea suppers."
The charity is appealing to volunteers to go to the pub in Wassand Street to help members paint it.
Claire said: "We have had so much help and donations from tradespeople coming to prepare it before we can paint.
"We will also let other charities use it for their fundraising events, free of charge."
Mrs Perkins, who also owns The Railway Inn in New Ellerby, The White Hart in Alfred Gelder Street and The Whittington And Cat in Commercial Street, has been a landlady her whole working life.
She said: "I was inspired by Claire Stockton's story at a Women In Business lunch last November.
"Her story about her son and the work Echoes does for so many families across this city was so enthusing."
Mrs Perkins knew the Wassand would be ideal for Echoes to run its charity nights.
She said: "I am very busy running my other pubs and guest rooms and am delighted to be able to give Claire and her team the keys to the Wassand on a free loan to let them do lots more fundraising.
"It is a unique opportunity and I am delighted to be a part of this pioneering charity project with them. I feel sure they will make a huge success of it and host lots of successful fundraising events.
"I will be working closely with them as they venture into this new charity effort."
