GOOLE: Four pupils who spent their summer holidays creating a peaceful haven for fellow students are celebrating after winning a place at a regional awards ceremony next week.

Operating under the team name of Daring to be Excellent, echoing Goole High School's motto, the group took part in this year's Lifestyle Project, run by Humberside Police.

Adam Bryars, Conor Stainton, Rafael Carvalho, all aged 12, and Hannah Bryars, age 14, created a sensory garden in their school grounds.

The garden was also created to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Paralympics.

They will attend awards at Hull City Hall on Wednesday.
